Work It On Out

What a day! Where do I even begin? I woke up "cold" for the first time in a week. Let me tell you, that was great! It even rained a bit here today. Some would say it was too cloudy but I think it was still beautiful.

Work was not stellar, mostly because I felt like I had returned to square one. You know, the one where everyone speaks Danish and since I don't know what's going on I feel guilty about them either having to speak English or interrupting. For example, at lunch, I have no idea who we sat with but for the first 20 mins I said maybe a few sentences and that only when spoken to about possibly going to Sweden (more on that in a minute!). Another example would be when I needed to ask someone for help with a set up but didn't know what he and another coworker were talking about so I waited. Turns out they were talking about the woman's cat. Yeah, that's right, her cat. I explained, with a smile, why I hadn't interrupted and they all just smiled and he answered my question and will help with the set up tomorrow. It was stressful, more so than I thought it would be.

Anyway, left work and instead of going straight home I went and bought chocolate chip cookies. Oh man, these cookies are SO good! I ate two on the way home. I got to chat with a friend who's in Spain for a while and made dinner. And then, Drum roll please...I bought a ticket to SWEDEN!! That's right! I'm going to Stockholm this weekend and will be meeting up with a friend from Finland who I have not seen in about three years! Crazy! Every time I think about it I get SUPER excited. Oh. My. Goodness! I basically found out yesterday she'd be there this weekend and scrambled to find a way there that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg (I like my arms and legs enough to keep all of them). Well, I found one and I'm going! I will leave early Friday evening and come back late Sunday night. I am so excited! AH!

Alright, breathing and calming down. :-) Oh, I hope you can feel my excitement!

Anyway, I then got to talk with one of my roommates who had her life stolen, basically. Her purse was stolen on her way to the airport and EVERYTHING important as far as ID goes was in it and now gone. Can you imagine? But let me tell you, even though it was rough and she had a rough time of it this morning, when I talked to her she was able to somewhat laugh about it and even say "God works everything for a reason." We both kind of want to know WHAT He is preparing her for!

Well, I think that's it for now. I'm already looking for flights and hostels for my trip to Munich in August (I want cheap, reliable deals).

I'd ask that you pray for my roommate as she deals with having all of that stolen and having to basically start over again. And I ask that you'd pray for me at work. I like what I do but my confidence is waning, especially with the reappearance of the language challenge. Also, please continue to pray for my throat. It's doing much better but a couple more days and I'm hoping all will be well. There's so many more people I want to ask you to pray for so, in general, pray for the people I'm meeting, the people I have yet to meet, and the people I know already.

Have a wonderful night (or day or afternoon)!
Bekah
